Your scan gets checked while the patient is still in the chair

A person does a scan review of your intraoral scan before anything is milled. Median time to a pass or fail: seven minutes. On any scanner, at no cost.

A crown that doesn't seat is almost never a milling problem. It's a margin that was never fully captured, found three days later, when the patient is at work and your schedule is full. The remake is free. The chair time isn't.

SnapCheck is how we attack that. It is a scan review: a person looks at your intraoral scan before it's designed or milled and tells you within minutes if something is wrong, while the patient may still be in the chair.

What happens when your scan arrives

  1. A reviewer checks what makes crowns come back: margins, preparation reduction for the material you chose, contacts and bite, and whether the arch is complete.
  2. Pass: the case moves on and you hear nothing.
  3. Fail: you get a text and an email right away naming the tooth and the problem. Answer in the portal and rescan if needed; the new scan replaces the old one on the same case.

A 60-second check before the patient leaves

Whatever lab you use, an intraoral scan is worth one last look before the patient is dismissed:

  • Rotate the preparation and trace the whole finish line. No holes, no blur, no blood or tissue covering the margin.
  • Check both neighbouring contacts, with enough surrounding anatomy captured.
  • Confirm the opposing arch is there and the bite looks like the patient's bite.
  • Check the Rx: tooth number, material, shade, and any note on bruxism or an implant.

That takes about a minute. SnapCheck is the second pair of eyes on the same list.

Why a person makes the call

Whether a scan is good enough to mill depends on what you are trying to do on that tooth. That is a judgement, so a person makes it.

Works with the scanner you already own

iTero, 3Shape TRIOS, Medit, Primescan, Carestream, or a plain STL or PLY file. Nothing to install and no minimum.

What dentists say

“If there's any issues with an impression or a scan, they contact you Johnny-on-the-spot.”
Dr. Henry Perez
“If they have any issues at all, they call you right away. They ask for your input and they actually listen to you.”
Dr. Kyle FordOttumwa, Iowa

The fine print, once

SnapCheck is a free courtesy review, staffed Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm Eastern. Scans sent outside those hours are reviewed when the next window opens. If a case doesn't seat, we remake or adjust it at no charge.
