Snap Dental Labs vs NDX (National Dentex)

An NDX alternative that publishes its prices. NDX quotes turnaround in working days inside the lab and does not publish a fee schedule; here is what both look like door to door.

Weighing an NDX alternative? NDX is not one lab. National Dentex is a network of member labs, and the one you deal with depends on where you are. We are a single lab with one price list for the whole country.

You cannot look up their price

NDX does not publish a fee schedule. Their own Verotek FCZ Express terms say “price may vary by lab and does not include shipping.” To find out what a crown costs, you ask a rep for your region.

Every price we charge is on one page, with shipping both ways and tax already inside the number. Full contour zirconia is $55 on a digital scan and $69 on an impression.

Turnaround: read the footnote

This is where the two models differ most, and what most dentists mis-compare. NDX quotes working days inside the lab. Their fabrication calendar says timing “does not include day of receipt or delivery, holidays or weekends,” and that FedEx pickup and delivery adds two days each way.

NDX published in-lab working days, plus their stated transit, against Snap's door-to-door calendar days.
Case typeNDX in labNDX with transitSnap, door to door
Full contour zirconia (scanned)3 working days~7 working days10 calendar days
e.max monolithic6 working days~10 working days10 calendar days
PFM12 working days~16 working days10 calendar days
Implant restoration10–15 working days~14–19 working days10 calendar days

Our ten days are calendar days, from when we receive the case to when it is back with you, and our outside commitment is fourteen.

Credit where it is due

NDX's Verotek FCZ Express gets modeless posterior crowns, up to two units, delivered on day three.

What we do instead

Outside that lane you are back to a quoted price, shipping billed separately and in-lab days. With us it is one published price list, one lab and a door-to-door date.

How to compare them properly

Ask your NDX lab for three things in writing: the per-unit fee for your top three materials, whether shipping is billed each way, and the door-to-door day count including transit. Then put them next to our fee schedule.

“I've done a lot of implant crowns, screw-retained implant crowns. Haven't had any remakes, haven't had any issues with fit.”
